About: an environment to thrive-in

v1.Draft – first draft of a lesson in the well-prepared athlete serious. Why am I publishing a draft? It’s a working document that I will complete and invite athletes and parents to discuss and study. When I publish a draft it creates a sense of urgency for me to complete the lesson. Sometimes I need extra motivation when I’m extra busy.

who is this for: parents first athlete second.

what is the formula to nourish the mind and body of the aspiring athlete? Provide a positive environment for the athlete to thrive in. Optimize the PMA – Mositive Mental Attitude.

what is this: as I look back decades when I was a young athlete and entering adulthood I can look back and see that oftentimes I was in an environment where the conditions were not optimal for me to be able to thrive. Example: lacking PMA positive mental attitude, sometimes hostile environments at home and at work – young athlete doesn’t know how to deal with the hostile environments – that’s creating a overload of unnecessary emotional stress and anxiety – athlete cannot cope, does not know how to cope, athlete is lost in a sea of emotion sometimes. Why is the athlete in this pickle / predicament it’s very simple the athlete is not prepared for adulthood -the athlete is not trained to deal with the negative circumstances that they’re faced with and living with.

further complicated my parents or a family environment that the mother or father may have turned into bully’s – in the form of hostility (verbal hostility I. E. Verbal abuse) psychological abuse resulting from the hostility.

diagnosing level 1: typically the hostile parent is not self-aware of the trauma they are inducing on their athlete son or daughter. Obtuse parents – clothes that they’re causing emotional baggage / trauma that is exponentially causing the athlete emotional distress.

bottom line: the athlete is existing in an environment there is nowhere near optimal for thriving. Oftentimes it’s a yin and yang combination of negativity and positivity – epitome of irony.
